At registration: username, email, and password (stored encrypted). While using the service: uploaded videos, titles, descriptions, comments, likes, and links to your social media, if you provide them. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and Google account ID from Google — only to log you in.
Chat: messages you write in the chat are stored on our server and are visible to all users together with your username and avatar. We also store reports and the list of users you blocked. You can delete your own messages at any time; all of them are deleted together with your account. For automatic translation, message text is sent to DeepL (DeepL SE, Germany); translations are stored by us and deleted together with the message.
Payments: if you buy a regional pack, the payment is processed by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe Ltd / Stripe, Inc.). We never see or store your card details — only a Stripe customer ID, a subscription ID and the payment status. Location: if you use the map or turn on route recording, your device’s GPS position is used. The recorded route is stored only on your device and is not sent to our servers. To show nearby landmarks and place names, approximate coordinates are sent to OpenStreetMap-based services (Overpass API, Nominatim), and map tiles are loaded from OpenStreetMap servers, so these services can see your IP address. Camera and microphone: used only when you record a video in the app; the recording stays on your device until you choose to upload it.
Data is used to run your account, show your content in the feed to other users, and store your activity history (likes, comments, views). Your email is used only for login and is not shared with third parties.
The website is hosted on servers of Infomaniak Network SA (Geneva, Switzerland). On every visit, the servers automatically store log files (IP address anonymized, browser, date, URL, referrer). This data is kept for a maximum of 30 days.
On your first visit, a cookie notice appears with the options "Accept" and "Necessary only". It informs you about the services described below; by continuing to use the website, you agree to their use. Session cookies remember that you are logged in and are deleted when you log out or your session expires.
With your consent, this website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service by Google Ireland Limited (Ireland) / Google LLC (USA). Google Analytics sets cookies that allow analysis of how the site is used. The resulting data may be transferred to and stored on Google's servers in the USA. You can opt out via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by choosing "Necessary only" in the cookie banner.
This website contains affiliate links to travel partners — GetYourGuide, Tiqets and Airalo (via the Travelpayouts affiliate network) and Booking.com (via the Commission Junction / CJ Affiliate network, USA). Clicking such a link takes you to the partner's own website, where its privacy policy applies. We ourselves never receive any payment data — only the information that a booking was made through our link.
Data is stored for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account yourself at any time: open your profile in the app and tap “Delete account” (see also https://app.mytraveling.ch/delete-account.html). Your profile, videos, comments, likes and map pins are deleted immediately. If you cannot log in, contact us — details below. Payment records are kept by Stripe for the period required by law.
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, and restrict the processing of your data, to object, and to data portability. Send requests by email to hello@mytraveling.ch. We reply within 30 days.
The website uses HTTPS encryption (SSL/TLS). The SSL certificate is provided by Infomaniak.
